Measurement solution optimized for EVs
Hioki Korea

At this year’s expo in Seoul, Hioki Korea will be highlighting its power analyzer PW8001 and non-contact CAN sensor SP7001 and SP7002.

According to the company, the power analyzer PW8001 has optimized measurement with world class accuracy. Its capabilities include ±0.03% basic accuracy, ±0.05% DC accuracy as well as 50kHz accuracy 0.2% (*1). Evaluating power conversion efficiency requires the ability to accurately measure power in every band, from DC to high frequencies. The PW8001 delivers exceptional measurement accuracy not only for 50/60Hz, but also across a broad frequency band, including for DC and at 50kHz. This allows it to accurately evaluate power conversion efficiency which often involves measuring multiple frequencies.

The analyzer boasts 8-channel power measurement and CAN signal output function. A single PW8001 can measure 8 channels of power data, allowing equipment with 8 measurement points for power such as dual motors and inverters as well as other equipment with multiple circuits to be evaluated in one stroke. It can also output the measured value as a CAN signal.

Additionally, the non-contact CAN sensor SP7001 and SP7002 has a wide operating temperature; its new approach means dramatically fewer man-hours. Users can also simply hook probes over wires without damage. CAN signals are captured without the need to fabricate sub-harnesses or strip back cable insulation so as to significantly reduce the number of man-hours spent on test preparation. Furthermore, CAN signals are acquired in environments from -40°C to 85°C, the temperature range required in vehicle testing.
